Essentials of Golf Who We Are

Charles D. Rollins, Jr.

Founder, Medallion Golf Productions
Charles D. Rollins, Jr. grew up in Houston, Texas and began his love of the game of golf at the young age of ten, where he played in junior golf programs at Lakeside Country Club. As he grew up he caddied at the Club and learned the ins and outs of the game from both playing with his parents, other adults and those for whom he carrying their bags. As he continued in the golf program at Lakeside he played team events and eventually made the varsity golf team at KinKaid High School as a freshman. As he became more involved with other sports basketball took over as his lead sport. After college Charles worked in the real estate industry in Texas and California.

In 1990, he was employed by the Jack Nickalus Development Group as Vice President, Director of Operations for Southern California. He oversaw the development of the Bear Creek Golf Community, located in Murrieta, California. After four years in this position Charles formed the Rollins Group to continue his career in the real estate industry.

Over the years he has developed golf practice facilities in Carlsbad, California, Rancho California, and other locations. Additionally, Charles has worked with various developers' on golf course communities and standalone golf courses. Charles was fortunate enough to play some of the finest facilities in the country. By being involved in the front-end development of golf course facilities he would be intimately involved as new members came to use the facilities.

During this time there was huge growth in the game of golf, bringing many new golfers of all ages into the mix. As a result and wonderful to the game of golf but frustrating to Charles, the three and half to four hour round of golf was a thing of the past. The pristine new golf facilities were torn up by players who didn't have a clue as to how to care for the course or know that it was part of the game to fill divots, how to repair a ball mark on the green properly or at all, where to park the cart, what the meaning of ready golf was and many other traditions that made the game such a joy.
